Labour Market Impact Assessment

The Labour Market Impact Assessment or LMIA is a document that an employer in Canada needs before hiring a foreign worker. Any employer wishing to hire a foreign worker has to prove that no Canadian or permanent resident is available for this employment opportunity and thus, there is need for a foreign worker to fill the position.

This document is usually essential when converting a visitor’s visa into a work permit. Because of the complexities and requirements of the LMIA, a potential employer has to rely on a lawyer to prepare this documentation. Canadian Dream Visa takes up the responsibility and costs for this process on behalf of the employers and our clients who have travelled with a visitor’s visa, ensuring a smooth transition into employment.
